We’re hiring new part-time brand representatives at Gameday Cloth. If you think you’re a good fit, please send your resume to email@example.com. I tend to think we’re a pretty cool bunch of people and quite fun to spend time with, but I suppose that’s always up for debate …
Here’s the official job description and “ad:“
Gameday Cloth is a rapidly growing lifestyle sports boutique for the fashionable fan. We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team. Previous sales experience isn’t necessary, but previous service industry/customer service is preferred. Sales training is provided. But YOUR personal style and fashion is a MUST.
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative and sees what needs to be taken care of without being told each step of the way. You must be responsible and self-motivating as you will work in the store on your own at times. An understanding of fashion is crucial, combined with an appreciation for sports and the life of a fan. You need to be personable and friendly to succeed in this position. We build relationships with our clients and offer them a stylish alternative to the bookstore & fan shop. We are a sports boutique.
Gameday Cloth is still a small company so responsibilities can vary and are extensive – sales, merchandising, events, web, etc.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be eligible to legally work in the United States
- 15-25 hours a week
- Mainly nights/weekends. Minimum 3 weekends a month
- Understand the life of a fan & fashion and style
If this sounds like you, please send your resume for consideration. If you cannot work the hours asked, please do not apply.
Love your team. Love your clothes.
BOOK IT! is a literacy program that’s been around for as long as I can remember. I don’t’ know if you remember your elementary school participating back in the day, but it was a big deal to get my Pizza Hut pizza! I won’t bore you with all the details, but suffice to say it’s all the rage again.
One – We have the super soft and vintage Tshirts on our website.
Two – 100% of the proceeds from the sale go back to YUM Brands and the BOOK IT! program
Three – Everything Tim Tebow touches turns to gold and he was recently named the spokesman for BOOK IT! (PS – We had the shirts in-store and online before this addition).
You can read more about the program here. If you’re a student and want the BOOK IT! program in your classroom talk to you teacher. If you’re a teacher, appeal to your principal to get this program in your school. Literacy should be a constant focus both in and out of our classrooms.
It has been a long day here in Vegas, scouring over 100,000 square feet of fashion trade shows so that we can bring you guys the best that we can. But as I sit here in my hotel robe and slippers with my tired feet up, I will tell you that I am the luckiest girl in the world. A very tired, lucky girl.
We definitely picked out some fantasticalness that I cannot WAIT to get in so that everyone can see it. You are going to love it! – I hope – But I definitely love all of it and it’s totally unique and different. There’s sports, there’s fun and there’s fashion. We’re bringing it all this year.
We ended the day cruising around the ‘Street’ show with a beer, checking out what was happening on the 2nd floor. It’s a show with style similar to it’s name and it felt like a Street-style circus. We saw a pair of guys jamming on acoustic guitars together, a game of dice over a pack of cigarettes, half naked promotional girls for various brands, clouds of smoke of multiple varieties and a half pike in the back with an intense skate competition, the last jump height at over 15-feet.
But we also saw the upcoming fashion trends. What’s eventually coming to Texas is already in ‘Street’ and we’re keeping our eyes open. We saw slimmer styles, bold colors, thick glasses and lots of flat bills – girls, boys, young, old. Think Redfoo from LMFAO meets Jay-Z. I can’t wait to see how it’s done when these styles finally reach Plano, Texas.
For now I need some dinner and drinks, but we’ll get back to it tomorrow, finding awesome, unique and super high quality goods you are going to love!
I love shopping in January. If I can handle buying “off-season” and holding on to things for a while, I can find THE best deals. For example, I just bought a fantastic pair of black long shorts to wear this summer. True that I can’t wear them for a while, but they’ll be new and exciting once I finally can wear them.
We’re no different here at Gameday. It’s the Winter and we’re having a sale. Yes – there is more in-store, including ornaments, calendars and NFL gear, but online we’ve marked it down to the basement and wanted to give you a run at it.
This is not a permanent markdown. We will make things a bit more normal in just a few weeks, so grab it while you can at these ridiculous prices. We need to make some room for all the fantastic new clothes we’re getting in the Spring!
Again – get it now. It won’t be this low for long …

I was asked recently to speak at an SMU J-Term luncheon. They wanted me to give a mini-ad for the store, but I was more interested in encouraging students to take advantage of what’s available to them while at SMU. After all, we wouldn’t be near as successful as a store without the support of the local alumni groups and SMU supporters!
What was supposed to be a brief two-minute store promotion turned into a five-minute lecture on attending football games. The statement “Put down your beer and go to the game” might have been made. But what is true is that you can’t sit in your student section and get away with being that outrageous and spirited forever. That guy is so annoying sitting with the grown ups on the other side of the stadium. I know. I was chastised for holding a sign at a game. It annoyed those around me. But the apathy of the alumni side of SMU’s stadium is an entirely different post.
Truly – what I said to those 200 J-Term students is true. This is such an amazing time in your life to be a student. You don’t get it back. I went to nearly every game in the Cotton Bowl, sat with the Kappa Sigma’s and cheered my heart out. I may or may not have attended my first game in khaki shorts, an SMU tee and ball cap from the bookstore. But that, my friends, is part of why I now own the store. I promise to be your sporty personal shopper and you can not only cheer for SMU, but look good doing it. And that does mean wearing something other than the standard issue uniform of short dress and cowboy boots. You can keep the boots. They’re cute, but I’ve got quite a few other fun things for you.
As I step off my soapbox, please hear me: Be stylish, be cute, flirt with a boy or girl, but go to the game! You only get a few of them in your life as a student and there’s truly nothing like being a part of the crowd.
Three years in a row. I am so excited, proud, nostalgic and all around happy for my alma mater. For those of you out there in the SEC or from Big 12 programs you are used to this frequently, but for SMU in Dallas, Texas, to be going to a Bowl Game for the third year in a row – it’s a proud moment as an alumnus.
